University of Goroka Launches Reform Initiative ~

THE University of Goroka has embarked on a comprehensive reform initiative. The institution’s five-year Reform Strategic Plan for the period 2023 to 2027 was officially launched in 2023 by Fr. Jan Czuba, representing the Minister for Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (HERST), Hon. Don Polye. To address this challenge, the university intends to recruit external experts in several key areas for short-term engagements, each tasked with delivering specific outcomes.

One area of focus is Human Resource Management (HRM), where an expert is sought to revamp the organizational structure, refine recruitment processes, and delineate job descriptions and qualification requirements. The ideal candidate will possess at least a decade of practical experience in HRM, along with relevant academic qualifications and a proven track record of success in similar endeavors.

Additionally, the university aims to optimize its student administrative services by engaging an experienced professional to streamline existing processes and enhance overall efficiency. Applicants for this role should have over a decade of experience in student administration and hold appropriate academic qualifications.

In the realm of media services, the university seeks a seasoned professional to spearhead its publicity efforts. The successful candidate will be tasked with promoting the university’s image and achievements through various media channels. Qualified individuals should possess extensive experience in media, preferably at a sub-editor or editor level, coupled with relevant academic credentials.

Furthermore, the university is in search of a competent Project Manager to oversee various reform initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience in managing social, economic, and development projects, along with relevant academic qualifications.

Interested individuals or firms are invited to submit their expressions of interest to Mr. Isidore Goveh, Executive Officer to the University Council, by the specified deadline. Successful applicants will be engaged for a six-week period and compensated accordingly.
